History
In 2008, a group of private investors formed the Wafer Holdings Company. Executive management along with the strong support of the Board of Directors set out to consolidate critical components in the wafer supply chain and create one comprehensive wafer solutions company to service the secondary markets.
Jan 2008 - WRS Materials, LLC, based in San Jose, CA was formed through acquisition of Wafer Reclaim Service Inc. In August 2008 WRS acquired Montco Silicon Technologies, Spring City, PA and in 2009 acquired Isonics inc. Vancouver, WA.
Dec 2015 – WRS Materials (Wafer Holding), a leading provider of specialty silicon and silicon services, announced the acquisition of Pure Wafer Inc., a top tier silicon reclaim company, to become the largest US based supplier of reclaim, test and specialty silicon.
April 2016 – WRS Materials LLC and Pure Wafer Inc introduce formal name change to Pure Wafer.
